Eyebeam Exhibit…
This day Dana took us to another interest exhibit, it was a mixture of art and technology fashioned in a most interesting manner. Students like us were given a couple months period to create words of art fashioned with technology. Some of the pieces did not work due to overusage by the public, but the ones that caught my eyes were not necessarily the pieces we went there to see. The video projector where a person had to imitate a silloutte of the character on the screen was most particular because of the fact that the person didn’t know if those shapes were predetermined by the artist or if they were randomly chosen. With a trial and error process of performing the countless shapes over and over, it was determined that they were the same each time. Moving farther into the studio there was the metalic sound machine AKA Sound metal which proved to be interesting in the sense that the sound could change with the holding of hands and opposite polarities on each metal piece. The overall the piece of art that caught my eye the most and was possibly the most entertaining for the class was the “travel through time” piece. This is an amazing programing job with people recognition and the ability to replicate their image no matter what they do. I can’t even think of the schemantics that went into creating such a piece, but I do know that it was fairly entertaining and for that I applaud the creator or creators. Overall, the entire exhibit was a wonderful experience, even though I wouldn’t be as creative or skillful to create such a piece by myself or even with a team, I respect the artists and their abilities to look “outside the box.”
